Day 1: Marrakesh

A driver will meet you at Marrakech Menara Airport and transport you to your hotel in the city. The city is famous for its colorful chaos. Here, you can leave your worries behind and let yourself go as you explore the maze of winding alleyways filled with spice vendors, fortune tellers, snake charmers, and monkey handlers. Before you check in and have dinner at your hotel this evening, your driver will give you an overview of what to expect.
2

Day 2: Marrakesh

The second-oldest imperial city in Morocco, Marrakech, will be the subject of a full-day guided trip for you. It is also referred to as the Red City and is the location of various illustrious monuments that document the vibrant history of North Africa. You’ll see significant locations including the Bahia Palace, the Agdal Gardens, and the Koutoubia Mosque this morning. The rest of the day will be spent experiencing local culture by visiting the famed Djemaa el Fna plaza
and captivating souks, which are both located in the medina of Marrakech (old town).
The vibrant energy that never stops in the city creates an exhilarating buzz that gives you a wide range of options — from musicians to tattoo artists to merchants with intriguing businesses.
3

Day 3: Marrakesh

You’ll have the day to do as you want, with the option of taking a day excursion to the Atlas Mountains or seaside Essouira. Stay put and unwind if you want to see more of Marrakech, or visit one of the many spas with hammams for a relaxing dip and maybe some luxurious treatments.
Take a culinary lesson to learn more about the local cuisine, or just stroll the alluring streets. Enjoy dinner at your hotel or a traditional Moroccan eatery.
4

Day 4: Ait Ben Haddou

Say goodbye to Marrakech in the morning, setting off with your private driver on a scenic journey up and over the Atlas Mountains. Enjoy spectacular views as you rise through a series of mountains and valleys before descending the other side and stopping to visit Ait Benhaddou — a remarkable fortified kasbah that sits high atop a hill. The medieval city has been featured in famous films like “Lawrence of Arabia” and “Gladiator,” thanks to its unrivaled beauty. You’ll continue to Ouarzazate, another popular Hollywood filming site.
On arrival check in to your hotel and relax for the rest of the day. Driving time on this day will be around 4 hours.
5

Day 5: Erg Chebbi Desert

After breakfast, you’ll be taken to visit the world-famous Atlas Cinema Studios in Ouarzazate. Known as the Hollywood of Africa, it is the largest film studio in the world and has been used to film many well-known classics such as Game of Thrones, the Mummy, Gladiator, Prison Break, and Bond film The Living Daylights. You’ll then venture into the desert, passing through palm groves and fields of roses before stopping at the magnificent Todra Gorge, the Grand Canyon of
Morocco with its towering limestone cliffs that change colors with the position of the sun.
You’ll then arrive in the Merzouga region of the desert, changing over to a 4×4 vehicle for an exhilarating ride over the dunes to arrive at your desert camp. Marvel at the Sahara sunset before enjoying dinner around the campfire then settle in to spend the night in a Berber-style tent.
6

Day 6: Fes

Wake up and join a camel ride out in the dunes to enjoy a stunning desert sunrise. Return to the camp for a hearty Berber breakfast, before checking out and continuing by road to Fes. This long journey will take you back up and over the Atlas Mountains, pass along the way cedar forests filled with Barbary monkeys, and potentially glimpses of the nomadic Berbers as they travel through the mountains. Stop in Ifrane, with its Swiss alpine looks, just before reaching your hotel
in Fes where you’ll enjoy dinner.
7

Day 7: Fes

Today you’ll meet a local guide for a fascinating tour of this ancient city, considered to be the cultural capital of the country. Walk through the bustling streets, just a few of some 9,000 different passageways, taking in the atmospheric souks and medina. Look out for colorful spices and skilled artisans, and visit Nejjarine Square with its famous fountain. You’ll also visit the alluring madrasa Bouanania Medersa, the mausoleum of Mouley Driss, Karaouiyine Mosque, and the oldest university in the world, founded in 859AD.
8

Day 8: Fes

You’ll get a full day to enjoy the country’s cultural capital at your leisure. For an authentic local experience, relax at one of the many hammams throughout the city. You might want to do some shopping at one of the oldest souks, the Henna Souk which offers traditional cosmetics like henna and ceramics. Be sure to visit the Golden Gates at Royal Palace, one of the top spots in Fes for photos, before returning to your hotel for dinner.
9

Day 9: Chefchaouen

Your enchanting adventure continues after breakfast, with a scenic drive toward the Rif mountains and the famous Blue City, Chefchaouen. Stop for a guided tour of Meknes, the fortified Ismailia capital, visiting the imposing port, the Herri Essouani, and the Jewish Quarter. You’ll also visit the Moulay Ismail Shrine, an 18th-century mausoleum with Islamic architecture, and the Roman ruins of Volubilis – the 3rd century BC capital of Mauritania. Continue to Chefchaouen, a blue dream with its vibrant blue architecture nestled in the hills, arriving late afternoon and checking in to your hotel. Driving time should be around 4-4.5hrs today.
10

Day 10: Chefchaouen

Chefchaouen is a truly beautiful mountain town, renowned for its azure Andalusian architecture. The town was originally established in the 15th century by Moors and Jews fleeing the Reconquista of Spain. Walk through these truly unique structures, stopping at Uta el-Hammam, the town’s central medina (old town) where the locals meet in cafes. Chefchaouen gives visitors a glimpse of a more rural way of life as opposed to the large busy cities.
11

Day 11: Casablanca

After breakfast and checking out of your Chefchaouen hotel your driver will transfer you to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco. On arrival, you’ll meet a local guide to explore the city which is located on the Atlantic coast at the mouth of the river Bou Regreg. You’ll visit the 12th-century Hassan Tower and Mausoleum, a masterpiece of modern Alaouite architecture, along with Roman ruins and the Kasbah des Oudaias which overlooks the sea. You’ll then take the last
leg of your journey into Casablanca, arriving mid-afternoon.
12

Day 12: Casablanca

Casablanca is the largest city in Morocco located on the Atlantic coast, it is the country’s chief port and its economic hub. The town and the medina of Casablanca, as it is today, was founded in 1770 AD by Sultan Muhammad III ben Abdallah and there has been a settlement in this location since the 7th Century B.C. In the morning your driver will meet you and take you on a guided tour of the city, including a visit to Mohammed V Square, the spectacular Hasan II Mosque, and a walk along the evocative ‘corniche’ waterfront.
13

Day 13: End of Your Tour

Your adventures in Morocco have come to an end. At the appropriate time, your driver will transfer you privately from the hotel to Casablanca International Airport, arriving in plenty of time to check in for your flight.

I have waited a few days after my return from the 14 day tour organized for me by Mohamed at Tilila Travel in Marrakesh because I was lost for words that could express my admiration and gratitude to Mohamed for arranging my 14 day whirlwind adventure in Morocco. I want to share my experience with everyone shopping for an honest, knowledgeable, professional, fair, flexible, responsible, detailed & trustworthy travel agent in Morocco.

Instead of joining a group of travelers that Zi did not know &
being bound by an inflexible tour program, I asked Mohammed if he could quote me a price for just one person, add some stops, changing cities nearly each day and upgrade my accommodations to 4-stars instead of the 3-star accommodations that arr normally included in most group tour packages.

As this was my first visit to Morocco I wanted to see as many cities as possible so that when I returned to Morocco I would know which places & wanted to revisit and stay multiple days. I knew my request presented a challenge as I would be asking the assigned driver to drive many hours each day. Mohamed accepted the challenge and in just a few days provided me with a detailed proposal for the escorted solo tour which included a driver, comfortable vehicle, specialized guides in 4 of the stops, breakfasts each day & some dinners (included by Mohamed without me even asking). Mohamed also gave me the flexibility to alter the tour as I saw fit in case I was tired or changed my mind on where to stop.

Once we agreed on the itinerary, use of 4-star accommodations and making it a tour for one person, we just had to agree on a price. As a guide, I used the cost (for one person) of a an advertised group tour with a national company (adding the solo traveler supplement) & came up with what I thought would be a fair price. We went back & forth a few times & came to an agreement on the price. The tour began February 10th but early November we had come to an agreement. Mohamed was left to make all arrangements.

I chose Tilila Travel because of the exceptional reviews others have written about Mohamed & Tilila Travel. All those 5-star reviews are accurate: Mohamed at Tilila Travel in Marrakesh, Morocco IS exceptional. I would recommend him to anyone wanting a perfectly planned, comfortable & safe tour of Morocco at a fair price. Whether you are a solo traveler like myself, or a small group of family or friends, ask Tilila Travel design your tour & make all arrangements. Each day, my driver Kamal would suggest a departure time and once I was in our van, Kamal took care of everything; from the time we began our day until the time we arrived at the overnight accommodation at which time I had personal/alone time. It was perfect.

About my diver Kamal; In my opinion you want a driver to drive safely, to know the roads & the vehicle, to know exactly where we are at all times, to be familiar with every city or site on the itinerary, punctual, well-groomed, polite, organized, helpful (including translations where needed), flexible & able to communicate. Kamal fulfilled every requirement. Better yet, as I wanted to improve my intermediate French language skills, I chose to primarily communicate with Kamal in French. Although Kamal could communicate in English, his French was excellent so I saw it as an opportunity to make the tour a 14 day intensive French conversation class; an unexpected bonus. Every day, I felt more comfortable speaking French & of course, I would periodically turn to English when I got stuck.”
